Do animals have karma and reincarnate?

Yes. I will tell a personal experience. A family member had a beloved dog which died of old age and health issues. He never wanted another pet again after this. Around 8 years later, I started seeing this dog in my home, on the astral plane, one time getting it up and following it into another room before thinking "wait ... what am I doing?!" Some time after that (weeks, maybe?) my relative announced he was getting a puppy when it was old enough and ready. It looked exactly like the previous dog, and where the old dog's fur had gone gray, the puppy had white markings. I believe they had had past lives together too.

What an interesting experience! I understand now, in my head they didn't have it, because they usually act on instinct and have no sense of what is right and wrong.

Yes, they have their karma. All souls have a "direction." The souls of animals are different from ours and less layered. Here, there is a tendency to define the souls of animals as "simple", but I have come to understand that they are less simple than we think; though animals karma is different and manifests in a different way from ours.

People sometimes behave like this too,
especially children who haven't learned better. Animals can be very emotional and bond deeply with humans/other animals. I think that is a sign of the soul or consciousness. It seems that all life (but how then do we define life? will this change?) has consciousness. Experiments have been done with plants to investigate this. It's a fascinating topic, and then there's karma ... It's also interesting to think that on some other planets, the dominant (sometimes technologically advanced) species are not humanoid, but resembling some species of animals on our planet.
