You don't have to use any runes or even workings.

Just do returning Curses 1&2 and at the end imagine who ever you want getting your bad energy that you cleaned off from you.

As a overall rule, don´t think that a spell could fire back/don't doubt your work.

Normally the person with the stronger aura wins/reflects the curse.

People like martial artist have a stronger aura that normal people.
