events in Turkey are taking a terrible turn.
it started with the arrest of a syrian who tried to rape a underage girl. after a large group of syrians refused to hand this pervert over to the police, events escalated and vehicles and shops belonging to syrians were set on fire.
although the events ended in the morning, in the areas of northern syria that the Turkish military cleared from the terrorist organization YPG, Turkish flags were burned, Turkish government buildings were evacuated and in the following hours, even Turkish soldiers were attacked with guns.
similar incidents have happened before. as soon as president Erdogan makes statements on "peace with Assad", incidents break out in syria.
three days ago president Erdoğan said, "there is no reason not to re-establish diplomatic relations with syria. we can do it again as we did in the past. we have no intention to interfere in syria's internal affairs. you know, there is no reason why we can't do what we have done in the past with Mr. Assad, up to family talks."
in fact, the most fundamental issue is that peace with Assad is not wanted. the cross-border has been cleared of YPG terrorism, and Turkey has provided services to syria that Assad had not provided for decades.
the armed groups within the Free Syrian Army are of the opinion that "let us get the service, protect us from Assad, but let us continue without making peace with Assad".
everyone knows that the moment the Turkish troops withdraw from the region, in three days it will be under the control of Assad or the US-backed YPG.
its imperative to intervene in both the syrian refugee issue in Turkey and the groups in syria that are growing over the smallest issue. how long will they ignore this war between turkish people and syrian refugees?
the Turkish people have been waiting for a solution for years. almost 5 million syrians, many more illegal refugees. the problem cannot be solved with these moderate policies!
