As per a poll by Pew Research Centre, the share of Americans who describe themselves as christians has dropped by 12% in the last decade. 65% of American adults polled identified themselves as christians in 2018 or 2019. Over the same period, the proportion of those describing themselves as atheists or ’nothing in particular’ has risen by 17%.
