Astrology Question

Are there twelve or thirteen signs to the zodiac? I found these sites, and there both saying the same thing. IF this is true then I have a different sign than I thought I did. Sorry, but Ophiuchus isn't relevant in Astrology. There are only
12 Signs.

 I have read that there was a thirteenth sign "Arachnia", the sign of the spider.
 I read that in the Middle Ages it was changed when the 13th month was abolished for superstitious reasons.
 This explains why the months do not run on the 28 day lunar cycle.
Number one, it would mean that woman are more in tune with the Moon (meaning by your menstual cycle, that you are more in touch with nature) thus not controllable by man.
Second, we all know what Christians think of the number thirteen?!

Yes but if this 13th Sign you speak of (Arachnia) is represented by a
spider, it would have to have a corresponding constellation, which it
doesn't. There are 88 official constellations in astronomy and not
one of them is a spider:

Also, a 13th Sign would mean everything we know about Astrology is
inaccurate, which isn't so. High Priestess Maxine has been working
with the traditional 12 Sign (Tropical) Astrology for over 30 years
because it works.

That, too, is logical. I wish I were more knowledgeable in astrology. (I shied away from more than a somewhat superficial study of it because it seemed to require so many convoluted mathematical equations & I'm not exceptionally gifted in mathematics, but hopefully one day I'll have enough room on my plate to delve deeper into it.)

I've also heard that the arbitrary dates at the beginning/end of the 12 signs can be "off" by a couple of days or so, therefore, people born on or near the cusp may, for example, be Virgo according to the chart but actually be Leo. Presumably this has occurred due to planetary or constellation movements over the millennia. (Note: do NOT take that as an incontrovertible fact; I am repeating what I was told, albeit by a very knowledgeable person, and it made sense to me.)
