I was wondering if anyone here has tried acupuncture for sport-related injuries or from playing instruments. I am a musician, but I keep getting bad nerve pain and muscle aches at least once a month. It happens in both arms, upper arms and hands. I don't want to give up playing because it's something I am good at, it's one of the few pleasures in life I have and it's healing for me.

After a particularly bad episode last night and early this morning I told my teacher and this is what he recommended.

I am researching some clinics, but am also wondering if acupuncture is effective before I put down the money for it.

Thanks for reading.

I used acupuncture last year when my entire right side lock up.  I was pain free after the first session. I did a second to make sure I stayed that way.JasonHail Satan!

Yes, acupuncture is effective, especially if the doctor (acupuncture guy or whatever he is called) is skilled with energy work. But yes even normal acupuncture is effective.

Thanks everyone for replying.
I bought some cream from the health food store called Capsicum+. And slathered it on my upper arms. I think it's helping. For the time being since I don't have the money for an acupuncture session.
I will get acupuncture if it comes up again, but the pain has lessened considerably for the past day and a half.
