A story that needs interpreting

Hello everyone,
I have a story that has mind boggled me for a couple of years now. I had this friend who is a xian and one day he walked into a convenience store to buy some goodies. As he was looking around two men walked in the store and held up one of the two cashiers who was working there for money. He was hiding when the other cashier approached him(Name was Miguel) and showed him the way out and walked him home. On their way the cashier called the police. The police showed up and arrested the men. The police came and got my friends statement. A couple of days later my friend returned to that convenience store and asked where the cashier Miguel was from the other day. The employee's reply was there has never been anyone with that name who has worked here. Now, my friend being religious thinks that it was Michael the archangel who was there that saved him. Does anyone have any idea's on what it could be. Any advice would be appreciated.
