I want to take this time to encourage us to be more united in our actions, and to interact more. The JoS is a very beautiful thing, a united community of people researching and practicing spirituality together, under the guidance and protection of the Clergy and the Gods.
We must remember that we are friends and family here, in a real sense. We have a common goal and a lot of common understanding.
If you are a lurker here, just kind of reading things and not really interacting, do interact! Share your thoughts, ask questions, and get to know everyone.
Here are some things I wanted to bring to people's attention that can help the community feel more united:
1. We should be using the Chat function more.
The Forums have a great section for chatting, which can be used without the need to get your post approved.
If you have a minor question to ask, try to ask it there. Announce when you're going to meditate, when you'll be performing a Ritual (maybe there's others who want to group up) and just check in every now and then.
I will make it a point to have the chat in a separate tab and check it every now and then when I am doing work online.
2. @ramses13th has made a "Meditation Counter" in the past, which is a simple platform that shows how many people are meditating right now.
Link to the site
It's great to see how many people are meditating at a given point in time, and this tool will only be as fun as how many people are using it. Imagine the thousands of people actively meditating used it, we'd have some great encouragement for people to meditate.
I also invite Ramses to expand on this, and perhaps add buttons for the Rituals, to see if people are doing a specific Ritual, as well as Yoga.
3. Set yourself a certain time to use the Forums.
I'm sure many people are keeping up with the announcements by Clergy as well as other posts.
People can set a time in their day/week to just sit down and use the Forums. Writing posts they have been thinking about, answering questions, engaging in discussions.
You will more consistently find answers to your questions, and you will be helping other members which contributes to a better environment.
4. Get involved in beneficial projects for the JoS.
This is one of the most productive ways to involve yourself in the community, produce some great achievements, and help this place be better for everyone. And the possibilities here are endless.
If you have a novel idea, do post about it and see if you can rally people in order to get it done.
For example, if you are an artist, you can create music and digital art for the JoS, as these things are always welcome. Publish your work here, and ask if any specific JoS projects require these.
If you have a knack for social media, you can contact @NakedPluto [JG] and join the Outreach project and help promote the JoS, within a very nicely organized community of dedicated SS.
If you speak multiple languages, joining the translation team will also give you the chance to interact with many dedicated SS.
If you have an idea for a useful site, or for improving an existing site with your coding skills, contact our JGs and they will point you in the right direction.
The more we contribute to nurturing this ecosystem, the better. Take advantage of the strong community you are a part in, and grow your sense of camaraderie.
