If I were to learn Sanskrit, could I read uncorrupted versions of Bhagavad Gita and other books, or is the Sanskrit writings itself of these books corrupted at the core and not just translation issue

It is not easy to learn Sanskrit. It is extremely difficult. And still you should have the spiritual key to the text. Also because one Sanskrit term can mean many different things. So you really need this reading key. In general, the original Vedic texts deserve to be studied in depth. With ToZ's discernment filter we can learn many things now lost from there as well.

If I'm not wrong HP said that the older vedic texts are less corrupted. But generally he said that they are pretty corrupted. Search up the forum to confirm though.

Yes, what Egon sent is basically it, however there are some specific options, such as if somebody knows French, there is an Assimil course for Ancient Greek in French, Assimil courses are very good for language learning.

AG is a pretty hard language to learn, it's far away from English or Finnish, the books are also not the most entertaining, there is no options such as watching TV shows as with living languages. There are some graded reader books in that collection (basically all graded reader for AG is there) and some of them tells a story, these are the better books like Greek boy at home. Still not peak entertainment. There are also Grammar translation books there, which is usually the worsts, however the athenaze series stands out, I found it pretty good.

For these reason some may learn Greek first because because it's the closest living language to AG, about 50% similar.

The teacher you're saying is good do not use the proper Greek pronunciation but the "ag reconstruction" like "Zdeta" nonsense.

so is it more efficient to learn normal Greek first then Ancient Greek? bcoz i do want to read the original texts with actual accuracy and not just 50%. and i am not familiar with modern Greek literature, if it is good. but i dont plan to use it to speak to anyone, only to read old texts.

Well, I pretty much understand some of the letters as it is, and I think I can make anything happen when I set my mind to it. Thank you for your help.

im not concerned about difficulty or speed. i just want what im reading to reflect the exact accuracy of what the writer intended. i thought by learning the Ancient Greek first i wud get that, but HP seems to be saying the complete opposite. i dont even speak Greek but even i can tell the English translations are dogshit. sometimes it reads like straight gibberish.

What do you mean? If you learn Ancient Greek you'll be able to understand the text better, because in translations, there are a lot of interpretations.

Also there have been a lot of people who learned Ancient Greek without learning Greek or any other language so it's possible if somebody wants that.
