I've always liked cats, but this is my first one my family has bought and I absolutely hate him. He genuinely makes my blood boil.

It feel's ridiculous saying this about a cat, but he seriously pisses me off like no one ever has.

Worse, I thought cat's were supposed to be cool and distant, but he's constantly wanting attention/stimulation no matter how much you play with him. Completely disobedient, no matter how much training you do.

I live in a flat which makes it worse.

Is there anything I can do or should I just get rid of him?

Genuinely insufferable in his current state.

You are responsible for those you tame.

You need to work on yourself and your attitude towards animals, they are sacred.

If you are not willing to move forward and change, give him to good, kind hands.

Rid of him...

What a filthy piece of shit such a thought. It is not the cat that is incompatible with you, it is you who cannot understand the sacredness of an innocent and defenseless life and your response to the cat's life is to either to kill him "in the best way possible" or at least throw it away like he was garbage.

Yes, there is a way to get that cat out of your way and that is to give it to someone who truly deserves such a presence in his/her life. And don't worry, any kind of breathing human being would be happy to take it if you presented the topic to them as boldly as you anonymously posted your wishes against this cat.

I urge you myself, as the proud owner of a wild cat who has voluntarily decided to live with me despite the fact that she is not domesticated and therefore decides to stay at home only because she has found a safe love, to make sure that someone healthy takes the cat before the cat suffers any more.

If I could, I'd take your cat in a heartbeat.

The way you are now you do not deserve to have animals in your life until you get your immaturity and stupidity out of your system.

Nobody is forcing you to like anything, but hating them and wanting to get rid of them?? Too much.

Most cats are affectionate and need attention. Always do research before deciding on a pet. You can do a small working to ensure to find a better home for him. You can't really train cats btw, they are very independent and demand free run of the home.

You might prefer having something like a lizard, tarantula, snake, or fish instead. Something that stays in an aquarium, but make sure it's big enough for health and happiness.

i would tell you they get much calmer the older they get. but
regarding the fact of you using words like obedience, training and cats in the same sentence.
no this will never work out especially if this is a male cat
