Health #76474 Music and social media

Listen to other music.
Social networks - do not show you the true picture of people's lives, only the best moments and the most successful pictures are posted there, nobody wants to show suffering and failures.

Hi. Uh, hello. I get depressed with music and social media. Is it better not to look at it at all?

There are actually a lot of non-depressed songs. And there are some "sad" songs (but only in the sense that they have a melancholic mood) that are not depressed. Sure, it's a bad deal to listen to "suicide" music and put your Ki (creative energy) there, but there are really great, more positive alternatives.

If you're talking about video-edits (those movie reels with depressed music), I love them and there are many videos like that too that aren't depressive, but are motivational and will make you feel better.

Music can have a powerful effect on our emotions, both positively and negatively. If certain genres or songs make you feel down, maybe try switching to something more uplifting or relaxing.

If music and social media in general are making you feel depressed, it’s totally okay to step back from them for a while to protect your mental well-being.

Everyone's different, some people find it helpful to limit their social media use entirely for a while, or only engage with content or forums such as JoS that genuinely lifts them up (like inspiring content/sites/subjects/books focused on positivity).

There are countless ways to uplift your mood in a positive way - it's all about finding what works best for you. Whether it’s through music, meditation, yoga, reading, drawing, painting, or any other creative activity that brings you joy. Explore and discover the practices that make you feel good.
