I have been with my boyfriend for about 5 months. I'll refer to him as Jeff. He's a good man, he cares for me and motivates me to do my best. Jeff is Pagan, he believes in courage, honesty, knowledge and hard work. His Pagan beliefs, but also his embodiment of them (not simply the label of "Pagan"), is what attracted me to him.

Recently, though, we had a discussion. It was after I began reading the Poetic Edda (a collection of Nordic myths), I had grown frustrated that I couldn't understand the allegories. I expressed this to Jeff, who didn't get what the issue was. He insisted that everything that was written, was true. Dwarves, elves, giants, it was all real.

You see, Jeff's entire basis of being a Pagan is mainly viking/Nordic inspired. Well, along with Dungeons and Dragons, but that's more of a hobby. He doesn't know about the chakras, aura or anything spiritual in that sense. He doesn't know about the other backgrounds of our Gods and Goddesses such as that who he knows to be Freya is also Astarte, Isis, Demeter, to mention a few of Her names. And he certainly doesn't know about Father Satan. I'm not upset by this, as he may not be ready to embark further on this path. Perhaps he will gain better understanding as the world is further healed.

My question is whether I should speed up this process. If so, are there any runes or mantras that may work best in this particular situation? If not, is my presence enough to be a positive influence on him and lead him in the right direction?

Perhaps he will gain better understanding as the world is further healed.

That is self-answering. You should make your workings to improve your life and advance, not changing people - let alone in such an ideal situation. In any case if you wanted to try anyway and we weren't doing any schedule, you could try Apollon's Ritual and focus on this particular case, Azazel rules over the Soul of Gentiles/Pagans. But still I don't think it is needed, just enlighten him as time goes and show by example that spirituality is real and works.

He insisted that everything that was written, was true

Typical of when someone believes things without the spiritual key. This is why in Greece they were against disseminating mythology to those who could not understand spiritual allegory.

about the chakras

Don't talk to him about chakras using the word "chakra", which comes from Sanskrit. Use the Nordic language to show him things. Instead of saying "chakra" try saying "hvel" to him.

anything spiritual in that sense

There are books on the power of the Runes themselves that are purely spiritual in nature. A fairly famous one that I have read as well and explains it (and also talks about the spiritual side of the soul and not just the powers of the Runes) is this one:

Futhark: A Handbook of Rune Magic
By Edred Thorsson

He doesn't know about the other backgrounds of our Gods and Goddesses such as that who he knows to be Freya is also Astarte, Isis, Demeter, to mention a few of Her names

Here you would literally just need an online dictionary that shows the correspondents of the same Gods in different populations. In fact, if you delve deeper, you will notice the similarities. Think of Thor - Enlil - Zeus - Indra, etc.

And he certainly doesn't know about Father Satan

It will come at the end of the process. Also because Joy of Satanas will have major updates in the future anyway. Don't be in a hurry.

I should speed up this process

The best thing is to let him figure it out in his own time. Maybe you were smarter than him and put in your own time that was less, based on your own personal needs. You know what I mean.
