How could a great and advanced civilization like Atlantis be destroyed? Why didn't the gods protect it? or they couldn't.
Where in the world was Atlantis located? it completely destroyed and disintegrated into atoms or are there fragments of it (under the oceans, etc.)?

Atlantis fell mainly due to infiltration, corruption, and extortion, in which weakened them; they were eventually outnumbered in a war or battle.

In Plato's account, Atlantis fell due to its moral corruption and arrogance. Despite its power and knowledge, the Atlanteans grew greedy, warlike, and disobedient to Divine principles.

Plato also claimed that Atlantis was destroyed in a single day and night, which sank them beneath the sea. In a literal sense, this suggests that the island disintegrated or was submerged entirely, and is akin to concerns about technologies such as nuclear power.

Some theorists believe that the remnants of Atlantis might still exist under the ocean, and could be discovered through newly advanced underwater technologies and their continual development. This is highly likely as there are still remnants of Ancient Egypt still being discovered under water.
