Hello, fellow Spiritual Satanists. I have a couple of questions regarding planetary squares.

1. Does it matter if the planet is in retrograde or not when starting the planetary square?

2. Does Moon phase matter when starting the planetary square?

3. Are the astrological conditions to start the square (time, sign, moon phase, etc.) the same for both material and spiritual squares of the same planet?

4. Can one do both material and spiritual squares for the planet at the same time? E.g., during the same day do the material square, and after a couple of hours do the spiritual one for the same planet.

Hi there.

1. Yes, it matters if the planet is retrograde. Doing planetary squares when the planet is retrograde is not advised. With the exception of Jupiter. Jupiter retrograde brings increased good luck and fortune.

2. As long as you avoid a void of course moon, then the moon phase doesn't matter much since you are working with energies directly from that planet, and not the moon itself. With that being said, you can get a small boost from the moon phase/sign. An example would be starting a love or money working with a Venus square when the moon is waxing and in Taurus. That would add a little extra power to the working, but such conditions aren't always available.

3. Yes

4. Yes, as well. Just be careful in this instance so you don't accidentally swap a nama for a svaha and mess up both workings.
