I my booklet it means "transformation".
Perhaps the idea of "rebirth" is exaggerated, and "death" would depend on its position in the reading.

Per period, I obtain often the same cards regardless of how I mix them. Their place change gradually - sometime not - like if cards represent energies moving in the life, interacting with each other, up to disappear.
